Learn how GifQuill processes GIFs, images, and videos locally in your browser, what minimal analytics we collect, and how to contact support.

1. Local Browser Media Processing

When you use GifQuill's browser tools—including Video to GIF, GIF Compressor, Transparent GIF Maker, Sprite Sheet Slicer, Image to GIF, GIF Cropper, Reverse GIF, GIF Speed Changer, Add Text to GIF, GIF Splitter, GIF Frame Extractor, and GIF to Video—your uploaded images, GIFs, and video files are decoded and encoded directly inside your web browser's memory. Your media files are not uploaded to or stored on GifQuill servers during browser tool execution.

2. Local Session Storage

The My Creations page stores basic export metadata (tool name, file extension, byte size, and timestamp) inside your browser's localStorage under key gifquill-session-history. You can clear this data at any time with one click on My Creations or via your browser settings.

3. Technical Logs & Performance Analytics

Like standard web properties hosted on Cloudflare Pages, edge infrastructure processes standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, user-agent, requested URL, and status code) for security, DDoS mitigation, and aggregate traffic measurement. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Contact & Data Requests

5. Cloud Accounts, Generation & Billing

The local-processing statements above apply to browser tools. Cloud AI GIF generation is different: account identifiers, prompts, uploaded reference images, generation settings, job status, generated files and credit transactions are processed on our infrastructure. Cloud generation requires sign-in through Clerk. Cloudflare provides hosting, database and media storage. Waffo handles hosted checkout and payment processing; we retain the order identifiers, payment status and credit records needed to fulfil purchases and handle refunds, rather than your full card details.

The cloud workflow uses GPT Image 2.6 through OpenRouter, with fal as a fallback. Reference images and generated files may also be processed by KIE and WaveSpeed services for media hosting and input safety checks. Waffo Prompt Sift receives cloud prompts for content screening. Data needed for a request is shared with the services involved in that request; processing may take place outside your country. Browser-only exports are not sent to these generation providers.

6. Retention, Access & Your Rights

You may ask for access to or a copy of account-related personal data, correction of inaccurate information, or deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing [email protected] from your account email. Tell us the account and request involved; do not send your password or payment-card details. We may use proportionate verification to protect the account. We aim to respond within 30 days, subject to applicable law and the complexity of the request.

We retain account, job, media, security and billing records as needed to provide the service, investigate abuse, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Required billing or security records may be retained after an account-deletion request, and we will explain applicable exceptions. Deleting hosted data cannot remove files already downloaded or copied by others. Locally stored browser history must be cleared on your own device. We do not promise immediate removal of every backup or third-party copy.
